On June 13, 2018 Governor Rick Scott awarded Knight Enterprises the Governor’s Business Ambassador Award for the continued effort in creating jobs and opportunities to veterans and civilians alike.
“Thank you to all that have risked and sacrificed their lives for our Freedom. I am proud to be working for such an incredible company!” said Charlotte Otto, an Office Administrator for Knight Enterprises’ Charlotte, NC location. The efforts to build new opportunities crosses state lines as those locations expand and strengthen.
Knight coordinated with many different entities like Learning Alliance Corporation and Honor Force to cultivate new ways of training fresh Installer Technicians. These initiatives contain heavy focus on veteran candidates. Working with Veterans Florida has also bolstered Knight’s ability to establish career paths for local veterans. Better education and career paths foster strong ties to the community, customers and businesses Knight serves on a day to day basis, and with new apprenticeships and online learning capabilities, the successful integration of new employee installers looks to increase.
Governor Rick Scott stated, “Thanks to hard working businesses like Knight Enterprises, we’ve created more than 1.5 million private sector jobs across Florida since December 2010. Not only is this company dedicated to Florida families, but Knight Enterprises is also a leader in helping the veterans who have served our country get a great job.”
Knight employs Installer Technicians who learn to be proficient in the installation of cable, internet and phone services. Those installers can branch off into a number of other roles in construction, like Aerial Lineman or Fiber Splicer, or learn further installation expertise by working within the Knight Enterprises Pro Services division; a department that specializes in Home Service related work that includes home theater, low voltage electrical and home security.
“Since 1982 we have been working hard to create opportunities for Florida families and our veterans,” said Jason Welz, CEO of Knight Enterprises, “I am so thankful that we are hear in Florida where we have every opportunity to succeed and I am grateful to Governor Scott for his leadership and commitment to small business.”
